Ready Player One” takes you into a whole new futuristic idea of the world and sparks imagination in your mind along with nostalgia, while also keeping some reality in balance. This spectacular and fascinating movie premieres on Friday.

The producer of this sci-fi movie is Steven Spielberg, the one who brought you “E.T. the Extra Terrestrial,” “Jurassic Park,” and “The BFG.” He has out-done himself once again, as he captured the attention of curious minds and brought this movie to life, which was based on the novel “Ready Player One” by Ernest Cline. “Ready Player One” is an action sci-fi adventure movie that has a rating of 7.8 stars on IMBD.com that is 2 hours and 20 minutes long and is PG-13.

In the year 2045, the world has resorted to giving up on solving its own problems and just focus on making people happy by doing whatever their hearts desire. Of course this means that everything else is left to look run-down since everyone is living out their dream in a virtual reality called the OASIS. The co-founder of the OASIS, James “Anorak” Halliday, hid three easter eggs in different dimensions of the OASIS and the one to find all three of them will be rewarded a mysterious prize.

Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) is a 17-year-old orphan who is fully immersed into the virtual reality, where his avatar name is Parzival and spends most of his time on there. While doing a quest with his best friend Aech (Lena Waithe), he meets celebrity streamer Art3mis (Olivia Cooke). Together, they team up to find all the Easter Eggs in the game, while the rest of the world and the CEO of Innovative Online Industries, Nolan Sorrento (Ben Mendelsohn) are after the easter eggs as well.

Sheridan has made an appearance in other movies such as, “Mud,” “X-Men:Apocolypse,” and “Joe.” Other actors such as Waithe, Cooke, and Mendelsohn, have been in other movies as well. Waithe was the writer for the show “Master of None” and the film “The Chi” and was the producer of “Dear White People.” Cooke has been in “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl,” “Oujia,” and “The Signal.” Mendelsohn has appeared on the film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “Animal Kingdom,” and “The Dark Knight Rises.”

“People come to the OASIS for all the things they can do, but they stay for all the things they can be.”

Although this takes you on a wild ride, there have been no downs about this spectacular film. It includes all my favorite aspects in a film, entertainment, humor, and some good old gaming and many references.
